In order to get carbon from the cells, you have to open it from the anode side and then carefully take out the carbon route. Then you have to open the cell entirely and extract the sink mixture. When you collect quite a lot of it, you have to grind it to make a powder. 

After grinding it, you have to add about 20 drops of water in it and then mix It until you get a uniform consistency. You can also add some water-based glue or acrylic paint of your favorite color in it to get better binding of this paint. However, the color of the mixture may not be as vibrant as expected due to the carbon mixture.
